Right Tool for the Job

We have all heard it said that you have to use the right tool for the job.  Tools help us get things accomplished easier and more effectively.  My iPhone is my tool. I have an iPhone so I can communicate immediately and effectively, to remind me of appointments so I am reliable, apps that give me the Bible at my finger tips any where I am, and even tell me the weather today and in the future to help me make better decisions for me and my family.  I use technology as a tool to help me be a better friend, mentor, consultant, husband, dad, and person in general.

And then we have the best life tool of all - God's word.  It is the ultimate equipper for every situation.  But it must be used.  It must be referenced and it must be learned for it to be effective.  If I had an iPhone in my pocket, but didn't have any apps loaded, didn't have any of my contacts in it, didn't put any of my appointments in the calendar, it would be very limited in its effectiveness.  But when I invest myself in learning what all it can help me do and then USE IT, it becomes powerful.  Gods word is powerful.  May we open it up and learn how to use it so it can equip us for life.

Example- 2 Timothy 1:7 - for God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of love, power, and self control.  When I become fearful today, I will remember God's word and know I am powerful.
